Termination Bar 3m
Termination Bars are used to mechanically fix EPDM to vertical walls (as an alternative to wall chasing) or where EPDM membranes need to be attached to other roofing materials on the deck.
Please note, EPDM should not be joined to asphalt or bitumen.
Termination Bars are always used in conjunction with Water Block Mastic and Lap Sealant to create a watertight finish to your EPDM membrane. Water Block Mastic is used behind the liner and creates a watertight seal around the fixings when under compression. Lap Sealant is used along the top or outer edge of the Termination Bar to stop water getting behind the membrane.
Fixing membranes to vertical walls
Attaching membranes to other materials on the deck
One size - 3m
1. Apply a bead of Water Block Mastic to the surface behind the membrane at the point where the termination bar will be installed
2. Lay the membrane over the Water Block Mastic
3. Place the Termination Bar over the membrane and fix through at 150mm centres, ensuring the sealant is compressed
4. Trim the excess membrane
5. Apply a bead of Lap Sealant along the top lip of the Termination Bar
