EPDM Internal Drain Outlet 60mm
EPDM Drain Outlets are used to connect EPDM membrane to rainwater drains which run through the roof deck. The outlet is specially designed to create a tight seal between the membrane and the drainpipe, including two rings around the outside of the shank to act as a drain trap, a smooth flange to aid adhesion and internal ribs to hold a leaf or gravel excluder.
In order to install an internal drain, you will also need Tape Primer and Flashing Tape.
Creating a watertight seal between
EPDM membranes and internal drains
In order to install an internal drain, you will also need:
Tape Primer
228mm Flashing Tape
One size – 60mm
Where EPDM Internal Drain Outlets are to be installed, it should be ensured that the membrane has fully adhered to the deck. It is ideal to mark the position of the outlet before laying the membrane and pay special attention to this area when applying adhesive.
1. Cut a hole in the membrane above the drain pipe
2. Insert the Drain Outlet ensuring a good fit
3. Mechanically fix the Outlet to the deck (using fastening plates and screws)
4. Apply Tape Primer over the flange and surrounding roof membrane
5. Cut a piece of Flashing Tape to cover the flange and 60mm extra roof membrane on all sides
6. Apply the tape and roller with a Silicon Roller
7. Cut a hole in the flashing over the drain opening (be careful not to cut the Drain Outlet)
