EPDM Horizontal Drain Outlet 100mm
The Horizontal Drain Outlet is designed to form a through wall outlet for water, most frequently when a drain cuts through a parapet wall.
It is mechanically fastened to the deck and wall, then covered with Flashing Tape to seal it. The shank is slightly angled to encourage water flow away from the roof. It is 425mm long and capable of crossing walls up to 40cm wide without the need for any additional pieces.
Creating a watertight seal between EPDM membranes and horizontal drains
In order to install a horizontal drain, you will also need:
Tape Primer
228mm Flashing Tape
One size: 100mm x 100mm opening
The overall size of the face flange is 340mm wide and 160mm high, with 150mm deep additional flange at right angles to the face. The shank is 425mm long.
All horizontal drains are supplied with a leaf/gravel grate.
Horizontal drains should be installed before laying the roof membrane.
1. Use Contact Adhesive to attach the membrane to the face of the drain
2. Cut the membrane away from the opening and 50mm on either side
3. Cut a piece of 228mm flashing tape to size, to cover both the deck and wall
4. Cut a hole in the flashing tape in the position of the centre of the outlet.
5. Apply tape primer to the area including inside the outlet and allow to flash off.
6. Attach the flashing tape to the deck and wall, rolling the whole area and pressing into the outlet.
7. Re-prime the area within the shank and apply a 75mm strip of flashing around the inner perimeter to provide additional protection.
8. Add a leaf guard if necessary.
